FAQ & HBI Policies

Hello, welcome to the Hair? Braid It! Salon thank you for your interest in our services. Please read the following carefully.

Salon Policy

Prices are subject to increase depending on the thickness of your hair and hairstyle variations such as length colour and thickness.

Most of our braid services include; braids, products and a free wash unless stated otherwise.

Deep treatments cost an additional $50 and protein treatments cost an additional $150.

All appointments require a minimum of $150 non-refundable deposit.

All clients more than 30 minutes late for their appointments will be charged a $50 late fee.

Cancelation Policy

All cancelations must be made 48 hours in advance, failure to do so will result in a forfeit in your deposit and you will have to make a 50% deposit to book follow up appointments with HBI.

Workshop Policies

All workshops require a 50% non-refundable down-payment.

The final 50% of class must be paid on or before the first day of workshop to be allowed entry.

Failure to make it to the workshop means your deposit is forfeited with the exceptions of death or illness; you have the option to get the deposit transferred to another class in the future.  Documented proof is required.

Sales Policies

Hair? Braid it! Does not accept responsibility for the installation or assembly of any items purchased.

Hair? Braid it! Is not responsible for maintenance of any of our products. Proper use and maintenance are the sole responsibility of the customer.

Hair? Braid it! is not responsible nor has knowledge of individual building codes or laws. Please check with your local government offices regarding any questions that you may have. Compliance with all local, state and federal codes is the sole responsibility of the customer.

Payment Methods

We accept cash deposits via bank deposits, online transfers and Paywise. When a deposit is made the customer is required to send a picture to the stylist with the amount and their full name.

In order for the deposit to be deducted clients must come to the salon or workshop with the receipt proving the deposit was made. Failure to do will prevent the deposit from being deducted.

We accept payments via paypal a 3% tax charged is applied.

For pre orders the deposits made to start production or to purchases the goods are non-refundable. Customers have a maximum of 3 months to pay for the item in full. Failure to do so will cause the payment to be forfeited. Only cash payments are accepted for all pre-orders.

Shipping

Domestic shipping for in stock items will be shipped out 1-7 business days after payment is made in full and documented.

Domestic shipping for pre order items will be shipped out 1-7business days after the processing time is calculated and payment is made in full.  Information regarding process time will be sent in a confirmation email.

Shipping for domestic orders usually takes 1-5 business.

International shipping for in stock items will be shipped out 1-14 business days after payment is made in full. This will vary depending on the country and the size of the item.

International shipping for pre order items will be shipped out 1-14business days after the processing time is calculated and payment is made in full.  Information regarding process time will be sent in a confirmation email.

Shipping for international orders will vary depending on the country.

Return or Refund Policy

Hair services have a strict no refund policy. Clients who have any problems with the hairstyles within one week post-appointment will have the option to have it fixed. Once when evaluated it is a unforeseen circumstance the stylist will fix it for free.

If the stylist has evidence that the style was tampered with and the problem with the hairstyle is not their fault the client will have to pay to have it fixed.

For workshops there is a no refund policy after class.

For items opened or used no refund

After one week of purchase no items will be refunded.

Items damaged and it is the fault of the customer will not be refunded.

All manual purchases are final will not be exchanged or refunded.

The ergonomic workstation has a 6 month warranty, if defects or problems arise and it is evaluated and determined to be because of the manufacturer defects items will be repaired only.

No exchanged or refund on the ergonomic workstation, all sales are final.

Special Sales and Discounts

Special Sales & Discounts will be for limited times only. Advertised percentage discount prices may apply to specific marked/listed items only. Discounts will be applied to merchandise before shipping and/or tax. No limit of the same product per customer, while supplies last. Offer valid online at hairbraidit.com for specific times as promoted. Not valid on previous or future purchases, cannot be combined with volume discounts, or other product promotions or offers. During sales/promotions, items may sell out and will be put on a backorder status with first come, first serve method being practiced. Not redeemable for cash. Minerva Beauty reserves the right to cancel special sales, discounts, and promotions at any time.

Marketing

Hair? Braid it! shall not be held responsible for incorrect information including but not limited to typographical, clerical, pictorial, or pricing errors and reserves the right to refuse or cancel any orders extending from such errors. If an error is recognized in any marketing or sales materials, Minerva Beauty agrees to promptly inform customer of such and provide updates to said materials in a timely manner. Customers are encouraged to call HBI directly at 8682212424 if they feel something may be listed in error.

FAQ

Where are you located?

We are based in Belmont in a roadside building that is two minutes from the Queen’s Park Savannah and walking distance from Providence Girls School. Exclusive access to our location and directions are given to clients or customers of interest only. Email us at hairbraidit@gmail.com “DIRECTIONS” and we will send you it.

How long in advance should I book an appointment?

During our top seasons such as Carnival, Christmas and school vacations one month to 3 weeks in advance. During our regular time periods throughout the year we advise that you book one to two weeks in advance. For Saturdays however, a minimum of 3 weeks or the top of the month you desire.

How should I prepare my hair?

We have recently added a free wash into our prices, this allows us to effectively moisturize and prepare the hair for an easy install for the desired service. However, if you prefer to wash your hair at home feel free to do so. All clients should wash and deep condition their hair a maximum of 3 days in advance. We also have deep treatment and protein treatment services available for an additional cost.

Do I need to make a down-payment?

Yes this will allow the stylist to comfortably book your appointment without replacing it. All payment options are seen on our online forms or you can send an email to hairbraidit@gmail.com entitled “Payment Options”.

Is faux locs tight?

In most cases yes, braids are tension and we do not recommend this style to first time clients or persons who have a sensitive scalp.

How do I maintain my braids?

  • To sleep wrap hair in bun and cover with a silk wrap. If braids are too heavy leave braids down and use a silk cap.
  • Use rubber bands to tie hair up or back. It reduces tension on the hairline.
  • Moisten scalp and use hair boosters on the hairline.
  • When washing hair focus on the roots minimize wetting hair. We do not recommend applying heat on braids to dry, use heat on scalp, towel and air dry. Always try to wash hair early in the morning so it is completely dry by night.
  • When unloosing your hair detangle each plait individually and do not wet it until all hair is fully detangled. Use little oil at the roots to help loosen build up.

Do you do house calls?

Yes, we do for some areas and some clients, additional $200 for house calls.  The charge for house calls may increase depending on the area or requirements. House calls must be made in advance and paid in full as stylists have to clear their schedule to accommodate house calls.

Can I only purchase goods via paypal?
